Green Waste Overview

Green waste collection is available to all residents Williams for an additional fee. Green waste is collected every other week, on the same day as your normal collection. Only place organic materials into your green container!
Acceptable Materials
  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves
  • Pallets (broken down)
  • Scrap wood (non-painted & non-treated; nails ok)
  • Tree and bush prunings
  • Weeds
Unacceptable Materials
  • Concrete, rock, or asphalt
  • Food waste
  • Manure and animal waste
  • Painted or treated lumber
  • Palm trees or fronds, bamboo or pampas grass
  • Plywood or particle board
  • Sod or dirt
  • Other household garbage

Important Green Waste Notes!
  • Tree and shrub prunings must be cut small enough to fit inside the container.
  • Fill your provided green container completely before using any personal containers or bundles.
  • Do not place yard clippings in plastic or paper bags. Place green waste loose in container.
  • The following items do not constitute green waste and are not to be placed in green waste container:
    Food scraps, animal feces, lumber, rocks, soil, palm leaves, cactus, and ice plant trimmings.
Proper Container Placement And Storage
Recycling, green waste and garbage containers are collected by a semi-automated sanitation truck. The automated truck requires ample room to collect containers safely and effectively. For more information on container placement, please view our Proper Container Placement And Storage page.
